Beautiful Kyoto - part 2

We took a bus to the Nishiki Market - rows of bustling shops and market stalls. We tried roasted chestnuts, soya beans and matcha cake. We went into a shop specializing in silk fabric crafts - food and animals recreated in fabric. Its name is Chiri-Men-Craft Museum. We bought Emily a bunny ornament with her birth month and day embroidered on it. We include a picture of silk sushi!
We walked some more in the heat and then took a bus to another temple which is 1200 years old. The oldest temple in Japan and most famous in Kyoto. It was stunning and we took many pictures. The view was excellent towards the city of Kyoto. The street up to the temple was very quaint and narrow and stores led you to the top.
We were tired after our day touring and now it was 7 p.m. We said goodbye to the girls and made arrangements on where to meet tomorrow. Nozomi has to work but Noriko has taken 3 days off to be with us. Tomorrow she is taking us to Nara. Thank you Noriko and Nozomi for being such good tour guides!!
On the way home Peter and I found a grocery store. We wanted to buy some fruit and yogurt to take back to our room. The price of fruit was about the same as Canada, the yogurt was a little more expensive.
We have had an amazing day and look forward to tomorrow. Now it is time to take shower #2 of the day as it is so hot and I am able to wash our sweaty clothes in our room using the washer/dryer. Am I glad we have a washing machine!!
Enjoy the pictures from today. We will have to put pictures up in 2 blogs as we want to share so many with you.
Sally thank you for the updates on our dogs and bunnies and we love the pictures!!
